From the video, More Human Than Human, I learned how much the human body has an effect on art. All the arts of human bodies share one thing. None of the images represent real human bodies. In the video, it showed arts of human bodies and stated how we don’t actually know someone whose body looks that way. The arts of bodies are unrealistic. In order to understand the reason for this, we look back in history. The human art is not made by accident; they are the way they are on purpose. I liked in the video when they discussed the baby chicks with the sticks.  It is interesting in how they can relate to art. The Nomadic way of showing bodies is skinny figures with no shape and hips or boobs. Egyptian artists chose to show bodies from its clearest angle.  They used grids that recorded numerous details; so we are able to see how big each body part was include the feet, arms, and legs.
The second video I chose to watch was The Greek Awakening: Art From the 5th Century. I chose this video because the Greeks art interest me. From the video I learned about The Great Awakening in Greece. If we want to understand our inner selves we need to understand the history of it. They borrowed from other countries, but they gave us our sense of philosophy and many other things. Many people believe the reason for the Great Awakening is because people started to think of themselves rather than of Gods. It was also interesting to see the mathematics that goes into creating sculptures and buildings. Most people don’t think about how mathematics is related to daily life such as this. I like the videos because they show pictures and go into more detail about each piece of art. They show a piece of art and describe it in a well way that makes the viewer understand what the piece of art is about. I also liked that the second video showed Greece. It was interesting to see and hear people talk who live there. There are many visitors that go there to see the sculptures and art. The videos and the reading relate in discussing the different time periods of art as well as the Greeks. They also relate in showing sculptures and how they are created.
